The 2024 Montgomery County Energy Summit will focus on focus on preparing the commercial building community for compliance with energy benchmarking, building energy performance standards, and emerging building codes. We will explore requirements and opportunities in these areas and provide hands-on learning opportunities as well as case studies from commercial and multifamily buildings.

Monday, April 15

Sessions on Monday will cover basics about energy benchmarking and building energy performance standards, available utility incentives to help you implement efficiency measures, Green Bank technical support and financing, County building codes and permitting, electric vehicle charging and incentives, and how to interpret and act on your energy results after you’ve benchmarked.

Sessions in bold are plenary sessions for all conferencegoers.

Concurrent sessions will repeat throughout the morning and afternoon so that attendees can rotate and hear all sessions.

Throughout the afternoon, DEP staff will also be available for hands-on benchmarking support. If you are interested in support with DEP staff, please indicate that when you register and you will be asked to sign up for a time slot before the Summit.

WorkSource Montgomery’s Mobile Job Center will be on site. WSM connects jobseekers to employers and employers to jobseekers. WSM provides local job seekers with comprehensive employment and training services to promote economic sufficiency. For employers, WSM provides a robust set of business services and programs to help meet the talent needs of today and tomorrow.

Tuesday, April 16

Day 2 of the 2024 Energy Summit is geared to building and energy professionals and consultants, though building owners, managers, and facilities staff are welcome to attend for a more in-depth discussion about County energy policy and strategies to meet them.

Sessions in bold are plenary sessions for all conferencegoers.

Educational sessions will run concurrently in three tracks:

  • Building Improvements – dive deeper into energy efficiency and green building strategies
  • Financing & Incentives – learn more about local, state, and federal financing and incentives for building improvements and renewable energy
  • Decarbonization – explore electrification options for buildings and transportation through local case studies
